Clean, safe drinking water changes lives

According to the World Health Organization, nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide lack access to clean water.  Contaminated water and poor sanitation are linked to transmission of diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, dysentery, hepatitis A, typhoid, and polio.  It is estimated that 842,000 people die each year as a result of unsafe drinking-water, sanitation, and hand-hygiene.

Collecting water is a time consuming activity that is usually delegated to women and girls.  Having access to clean safe water not only improves health, but also improves the lives of women and girls.  Girls can go to school, improve their lives, and take charge of their own futures.

Hope for Healing works in coordination with other water charities to build sustainable, community-owned water projects around the world.  100% of your donation goes directly towards projects that improve access to clean, safe water for people in developing countries.
