Uplifting emotional health
Depression, anxiety and other emotional issues are on the rise in every age group. In just the five years between 2010 and 2015, the number of U.S. teens who felt useless and joyless (classic symptoms of depression) surged 33 percent in large national surveys. Teen suicide attempts increased 23 percent. Even more troubling, the number of 13- to 18-year-olds who committed suicide jumped 31 percent.
Health, as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO), is a “state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” How you feel emotionally affects how you feel physically, and vice versa. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) there is an emotional component in 85% of all illnesses.
Our emotional health affects every aspect of our lives. It affects individuals, marriages, families and communities. It affects all of us. We want to improve physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being in our homes and communities.
In an effort to uplift emotional health, Hope for Healing posts articles, free audio courses, free ebooks, and and resources designed to bring healing to the soul.
